
Punjab's Patiala Court has upheld the two-year sentence awarded to famous Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi in an 18-year-old human trafficking case. After this, he has been arrested. In the year 2003, more than 30 cases were registered against Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh.
What's the matter?
This is a case of pigeon pelting. In this case, 31 cases were registered against Daler Mehndi and his brother. Mehndi was accused of illegally sending people abroad. He is accused of taking a huge amount of money from people to send them abroad.
In 2003, Sadar police station on the complaint of Bakshish Singh of Bal Beda village registered a case against Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Dhyan Singh, Bulbul Mehta for cheating them by taking 20 lakh rupees in the name of sending them abroad. Shamsher Singh is the elder brother of Daler Mehndi. In 2018, the lower court sentenced him, which has now been upheld by the sessions court.
Earlier, he had got bail in this case. Daler Mehndi applied for the sentence in the Patiala Seychelle Court. Additional Judge HS Grewal dismissed Singer's plea and upheld the sentence. He was taken into custody soon after. Now it is being told that his medical will be done first.
