With Australia's victory over Afghanistan, three ODI World Cup teams have made it to the semi-finals. Three teams India, South Africa, and Australia have reached the semi-finals. It has also been decided that South Africa will face Australia in the semi-finals. In the current points table, India is on top with 16 points. After this, South Africa (12 points) is in second place and Australia (12 points) is in third place.

Same as New Zealand-Pakistan-Afghanistan 8-8 points

In the semi-finals, the top team will face the fourth-place team, while the second and third-place teams will face each other. It has also not been decided who India will face in the semi-finals. However, there are speculations that India may clash with Pakistan. New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are vying for the one remaining spot in the semi-finals. New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan have the same eight points each, but the teams are behind each other in terms of net run rate.

New Zealand's way

New Zealand will face Sri Lanka in their final group match in Bengaluru on Thursday and are ahead of Pakistan and Afghanistan in terms of run net (0.398). New Zealand will have to win this match by a good margin to reach the semi-finals and also have to pray that Pakistan (0.036) and Afghanistan (minus 0.038) lose their respective final group matches. The New Zealand team has lost four consecutive matches and there is a possibility of rain during the match in Bangalore.

Pakistan needs a big victory

There is hope of a semi-final match between India and Pakistan in Kolkata. This will be possible only if Pakistan registers a big win against England on Saturday. Captain Babar Azam's team Pakistan is returning to its rhythm. It is beneficial for him that after New Zealand and Afghanistan, he has to play his last group match against England in Kolkata on Saturday, so he will know all the equations, especially the net run rate.

So Afghanistan's work will be done only by victory

Afghanistan will face South Africa in Ahmedabad on Friday. If Afghanistan wants to reach the semi-finals, they will have to defeat South Africa by a huge margin as they are behind New Zealand and Pakistan in net run rate. If New Zealand and Pakistan lose then they will move ahead by registering a win again.
