There is hope of a semi-final match between India and Pakistan in Kolkata. This will be possible only if Pakistan registers a big win against England on Saturday. Captain Babar Azam's team Pakistan is returning to its rhythm. It is beneficial for him that after New Zealand and Afghanistan, he has to play his last group match against England in Kolkata on Saturday, so he will know all the equations, especially the net run rate.
So Afghanistan's work will be done only by victory
Afghanistan will face South Africa in Ahmedabad on Friday. If Afghanistan wants to reach the semi-finals, they will have to defeat South Africa by a huge margin as they are behind New Zealand and Pakistan in net run rate.
