Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India Energy Week 2024 in Goa. During this, in his address, the Prime Minister said, 'Experts around the world believe that India will soon become the third largest economy in the world. The energy sector is very important in the development of the country. India is already the third largest energy consumer. Also the third largest oil consumer, and third largest LPG consumer country. We are the fourth largest LPG importer in the world. Ours is the fourth largest refinery market and our automobile sector is also the fourth largest. Today, record sales of two-wheelers and cars are taking place in the country. Demand for EVs is also increasing. It is estimated that the energy demand in India will double by 2045.
'India is the fastest growing economy'
The Prime Minister said, 'India Energy Week is being organized at a very important time. India's GDP rate has been growing at the rate of 7.5 percent in the last six months of this financial year. This rate is higher than global estimates. India is the fastest-growing economy in the world and recently the IMF has predicted that we will grow at the same pace.
The Prime Minister said, 'Amidst the increasing energy needs, affordable energy is being provided to everyone in India. India is a country where despite many global events, the prices of petrol and diesel have come down in the last two years. Apart from this, India has also achieved 100 percent electricity coverage. Electricity is being supplied to crores of homes and due to these efforts, India is making progress in the energy sector. India is preparing modern infrastructure for the 21st century. This financial year we will invest Rs 10 lakh crore in infrastructure itself.
ONGC's Sea Survival Center inaugurated
Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier inaugurated ONGC's Sea Survival Center in Goa. ONGC Sea Survival Eco-System Center has been designed with global standards. Here every year 10-15 thousand personnel will be trained to deal with the challenges faced while working at sea. During his visit, PM Modi will gift a total of schemes worth Rs 1330 crore to Goa. The Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation the new permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology in Goa. The Prime Minister will also address the Develop India, Develop Goa 2047 program.
India Energy Week was organized in Goa from 6-9 February
India Energy Week 2024 is being organized in Goa from February 6 to February 9. India Energy Week 2024 is India's largest energy exhibition and conference. In which the entire energy value chain will come together. Prime Minister Modi will hold a meeting with CEOs and experts of global oil and gas companies. India Energy Week was attended by 17 energy ministers from different countries, more than 35 thousand visitors, and more than 900 exhibitions were organized. Energy Week has pavilions from Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, the UK, and the USA. There will also be a special India Pavilion showcasing innovative solutions from Indian MSMEs and leading companies in the energy sector.
