Watches worth crores of Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who returned from Dubai, have been confiscated by the Customs Department at the Mumbai airport. It is being told that their value is 5 crores and Pandya neither had their bills nor did he mention them in his luggage. As the controversy escalated, Pandya himself clarified this. He said that he has handed over the documents related to the watches to the customs and their value is not 5 crores, but 1.5 crores.

Pandya wrote in a social media post, 'After coming to Mumbai airport from Dubai, I went to the customs counter with my luggage. I informed them about the items purchased from Dubai and also paid customs duty. Rumors are doing the rounds on social media about this declaration. The customs department had asked me for purchase documents, which I submitted.

I respect Indian law. The price of watches bought in Dubai has been mentioned on social media, which is wrong. I have bought watches according to the rules. I have all his documents with me. Whatever tax is levied on it as per the rules, it has been paid. I am a law-abiding person of the land and assure you that I will extend full cooperation to the Mumbai Customs Department. I will provide them with the legal documents they need in this matter. Whatever allegation is being leveled against me for violating the law is wrong.

There were flops in the World Cup

The Indian team has returned home after being out of the T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya also returned with the team on Sunday. Hardik Pandya was disappointed with both his poor fitness and form in the T20 World Cup. In three innings of 5 matches, Pandya had scored just 69 runs at an average of 34.50. In the entire tournament, he bowled only four overs and could not take a single wicket. A lot of question marks were also raised on his fitness in the initial matches. Due to poor form and fitness, he was not selected in the home series against New Zealand.

Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan, who performed brilliantly in IPL Phase-2, have been made part of the T20 team for the first time. Talking about Iyer and Harshal, both of them can show good game for the team with ball and bat. Former batsman VVS Laxman says that Venkatesh Iyer can prove to be Hardik Pandya's backup in the team. He said that Venkatesh Iyer can be groomed as an all-rounder.

Bad remarks made for women

By the way, Hardik has an old relationship with controversies. In the year 2019, in the TV show 'Koffee with Karan', Hardik made lewd comments about women with fellow player KL Rahul, after which he was also dropped from the national team. However, he later apologized, after which his ban was temporarily lifted.
