Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Russian President Vladimir Putin with a copy of the Bhagavad Gita written in Russian. This presentation took place during the meeting between the two leaders, adding a new dimension of spiritual and cultural connection to India-Russia relations. PM Modi said that the knowledge and message of the Gita inspire millions of people around the world, and its teachings guide humanity in the right direction in every era.

 

 

Kremlin reacts to the warm welcome.

A statement has been issued by the Kremlin regarding PM Modi's reception of President Putin. The Kremlin stated that PM Modi's decision to go to the aircraft to meet Putin was unexpected and that Russian officials were not informed of it beforehand. This is Putin's first visit to India since the Ukraine war.

After welcoming the Russian President, PM Modi posted on the social media platform X. He wrote: "Happy to welcome my friend President Putin to Delhi. On the second day of his visit, Vladimir Putin will be formally welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace). After this, Putin will visit Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Following this, he will participate in bilateral and delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House. It is expected that some prominent industrialists may also be present at the delegation meeting.

 

 

On Friday, PM Modi and President Putin will participate in the India-Russia Business Forum. After this, Putin will attend a banquet at Rashtrapati Bhavan at the invitation of President Droupadi Murmu. Following the banquet, President Putin will depart for Moscow.
