'New developed cities will become a new identity of India in the 21st century'

In the webinar, PM Narendra Modi said that the new cities that are developing will create a new identity for India in the 21st century. With India rapidly urbanizing, it is important to build the infrastructure of the future.

'Our government gave great importance to urban development in every budget'

PM Modi further said that there are two major aspects of urban development in India – the development of new cities and the modernization of old systems in old cities. Keeping this vision in front, our government has given great importance to urban development in every budget. He said that an incentive of Rs 15,000 crore has been fixed for the standards of urban planning in this budget. This will usher in and accelerate planning and systematic urbanization in the country.

Focus on these three questions – PM Modi

In the webinar on 'Urban Planning, Development, and Cleanliness', Prime Minister Modi said that you must focus on 3 questions in different sessions of this webinar. First- how to strengthen the urban planning ecosystem in the states. Second- how to properly use the expertise available in the private sector in urban planning. Third – how to develop such a center of excellence that will take urban planning to a new level.

PM Modi spoke in the webinar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today India is making the circular economy the mainstay of urban development. Thousands of tons of municipal waste are generated every day in our country. In 2014 only 14-15% of waste processing was done in the country, today 75% of waste processing is taking place.
