SRH vs GT: Sunrisers Hyderabad got the stamp of 'Q' on themselves, 'Orange Army' did this feat after 4 years

Posted on 17th May 2024 10:17 am by rohit kumar

The 66th match of IPL 2024 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans was canceled due to rain in Hyderabad on Thursday. Even the toss of this match could not take place. Fans were expecting a storm of runs and boundary rain at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, but the weather dashed all expectations.

However, Sunrisers Hyderabad got the benefit of the match being canceled as they became the third team to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. Yes, Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad got the stamp of 'Q' i.e. qualification after the match was canceled. Orange Army became the third team to qualify for the playoffs after Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals.

This is amazing after 4 years

Sunrisers Hyderabad qualified for the IPL playoffs after four years. Earlier in 2020, Orange Army had secured a place in the last four. This year, the franchise handed over the command to 2023 ODI World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins, who showed his magic and changed the fortunes of the team. Last year, the SRH team was in the last position in the points table.

Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad has played 13 matches so far, in which seven matches were won while one match remained inconclusive. With 15 points, Hyderabad made it to the playoffs and still has a chance to make it to the top-2. Hyderabad team will play its last league match against Punjab and would like to win it and reach second place.

RCB-CSK match important

Recall that Sunrisers Hyderabad last won the IPL title in 2016. Hyderabad will be hoping that this time under the leadership of Pat Cummins, it will get the pleasure of lifting the trophy for the second time. However, the fourth team of the IPL 2024 playoffs will meet on May 18 when there will be a match between RCB and CSK. The winner of this match will join the three teams of the playoff. Fans are eagerly waiting for this match.
