He said that India and Guyana relations are based on our shared history, cultural heritage, and deep mutual trust. President Irfan Ali has personally contributed a lot in taking these relations to unprecedented heights. Under his leadership, we are constantly moving forward in every direction.

'Our cooperation is important for the entire Global South'

Prime Minister Modi said that in today's discussions, I felt the affection and respect of the people of India towards them. India is also ready to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with Guyana in every field. Our cooperation as two democracies is important not only for bilateral relations but for the entire Global South.

'Many examples of similarities between India and Guyana'

He said that Guyana, blessed with many rivers, waterfalls, and lakes, is called the 'land of many glasses of water'. Just as the rivers of Guyana are part of the cultural identity of the people here, similarly the great rivers of India like Ganga, Yamuna, and Brahmaputra have been the birthplace of our ancient civilization. There are many such examples of similarities between India and Guyana, which further deepen our historical relations.

We consider you as a member of this CARICOM family: Ali.

Earlier, the President of Guyana said that technology, innovation, and digitalization should not be used to increase the gap between countries. This progress should be made to reduce the gap and poverty and bring the world together. India has been supporting new technology innovation and Prime Minister Modi reminded us in CARICOM that you are a member of this CARICOM family. We want to tell you that we consider you a member of this CARICOM family. This was a bilateral meeting, which was different. It was a meeting of ideas, an exchange of views, and a commitment to help each other overcome challenges.

Dominica also honored

Earlier, Dominica honored Prime Minister Modi with its highest national honor 'The Dominica Award of Honor'.
