The objective of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is to establish equality and uniformity in the country and society. Uttarakhand is Devbhoomi. Every year crores of devotees come here to participate in religious events at various places including Chardham, Haridwar, Neeb Karori. In such a situation, it becomes necessary that there should be no discrimination or inequality in the social structure here. The implementation of the UCC will strengthen the sense of equal rights and duties in society.

How is the Uniform Civil Code linked to Mahakumbh?

Mahakumbh is not just a religious event. It is a symbol of Indian culture, unity and harmony. The participation of crores of people in this event makes it clear that our culture recognizes unity in diversity. UCC will further strengthen this feeling. When there is a uniform law, every person will feel that he is an integral part of this country and this feeling is the soul of Maha Kumbh.

Will the implementation of UCC not affect the social fabric in the state?

The purpose of UCC is not to interfere in the traditions or religion of any community. Rather, it is to ensure that all citizens live in a society with equal rights and duties. If all people can gather without discrimination in an event like Maha Kumbh, then this feeling can also be established in society through UCC.

How can UCC be helpful in a big event like Maha Kumbh?

People from every caste, religion, and region come to Maha Kumbh. If there is a uniform law, then the chances of disputes and discrimination will be reduced. If everyone follows the same rules, then discipline and harmony will increase automatically.

Will the implementation of UCC affect religious freedom?

Not. The purpose of UCC is not to limit religious freedom but to strengthen it. It will ensure that every person gets rights without discrimination. Like the Maha Kumbh, where people worship in their way, the UCC will also promote the spirit of equality while maintaining personal freedom.

UCC... Saints honored

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami was honored at the Sant Samagam in Prayagraj for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. Dhami said, my honor on behalf of the saints is the honor of every citizen of Uttarakhand. There are now equal laws for any religion or caste in Devbhoomi. Many saints including Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj, Swami Chidanand Muni Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Balakanand Giri were present in the Samagam.

There is also Kumbh in Haridwar in 2027, what are the preparations going on?

Our government is fully committed to Kumbh. Work is underway to strengthen the infrastructure in Haridwar and Rishikesh. Special plans are being made for cleanliness, traffic management, water supply, and security. Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has already been given the responsibility for this.
