PM Modi shaped the global agenda through foreign visits, deepened relations with partner countries

The Central Government informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that a little over Rs 239 crore has been spent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign visits during the last five years. Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that during these foreign visits, India's perspective was shared with the countries concerned. Apart from this, these visits have shaped the global agenda on issues such as malnutrition, climate change, terrorism, cyber security.

 

Bilateral relations with partner countries have been strengthened. In his written reply, Muraleedharan gave a detailed account of all his foreign visits since his November 2017 visit to the Philippines. He gave details of the delegation accompanying the PM on 36 foreign visits, while giving details of expenditure incurred on 31 foreign visits. As per the details, in 2019, the maximum amount of Rs 23,27,09,000 was spent on the Prime Minister's visit to the US from September 21 to 28.

 

No need for legislation on climate change

Minister of State for Environment and Forests Ashwini Kumar Choubey said in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that there is no need for any law to deal with the challenge of climate change. India is trying to deal with these challenges through an action plan.

 

Operation of seaplane stopped due to commercial reasons and Corona

Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh said in the Lok Sabha that the operation of the seaplane started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2020 between the Sabarmati River Front and the Statue of Unity was stopped due to commercial and corona related reasons.
