But still, there is no relief from pollution in Delhi. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), air quality across Delhi remains in the severe category. Talking about Monday's air pollution level in Delhi, AQI was recorded at 466 in RK Puram, 402 in ITO, 471 in Patparganj, and 488 in New Moti Bagh.

A blanket of smog was visible right from the morning; there was no relief from it even after the sun came out in the afternoon. The overall air quality in Delhi was recorded in the severe category. More or less the same situation is expected to persist till Wednesday.

 

AQI of Delhi NCR

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), AQI was recorded in the severe category in 28 areas in Delhi on Sunday. At the same time, compared to Saturday, the wind in four areas has increased towards the severe category. At the same time, the air was very bad in two areas. In this, AQI was recorded at 487 in Dwarka Sector-8, 482 in Bawana, 481 in Najafgarh, 480 in Mundka, 478 in Punjabi Bagh, and 476 in Shadipur. Also, AQI in the severe category was recorded in many areas including 474 in Wazirpur, and 478 in Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. Whereas, 368 AQI in Dilshad Garden and 392 in RK Puram were recorded in the very poor category.

 

Wind may reach a dangerous category by Wednesday

According to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), on Sunday the winds blew from north-west to north-east direction. During this period the wind speed was between 4 to 6 kilometers per hour, which is a very low speed. Winds are expected to blow from a north-west direction on Monday. During this period the wind speed will be 4 to 6 kilometers per hour. In such a situation, the air is expected to reach a dangerous category. At the same time, there is a possibility of fog along with fog in the morning. At the same time, on Tuesday the winds will blow from the north-west direction. The wind speed is expected to be 6 to 10 kilometers per hour. According to Safar India, the amount of PM 2.5 in Delhi was recorded at around 321 on Sunday, which is in the severe category. At the same time, the quantity of PM 10 was recorded at around 488, which is a dangerous level.

 

The air was the most polluted in Greater Noida

According to CPCB, Faridabad recorded the highest air quality index after Delhi in NCR. The AQI here was 450, which is a serious category. Whereas, 410 AQI was recorded in Greater Noida, 414 in Noida, 394 in Ghaziabad, and 402 in Gurugram.

1. There will be a ban on entry of all trucks coming from outside Delhi. However, CNG and electric trucks carrying essential goods have been exempted from the ban.

 

2. Ban on medium and heavy diesel-powered goods vehicles registered in Delhi. Vehicles carrying essential goods will get an exemption.

 

3. There will be a ban on diesel-powered four-wheelers in NCT Delhi and NCR. However, emergency vehicles are exempted. Only BS-6 vehicles can run in this category.

 

4. Ban on industries in NCR. Where there is no facility for PNG fuel and fuel outside the list authorized by the government is being used, there will be a ban. However, industries related to milk and dairy products and medical equipment will be exempted.

 

5. Ban on construction and demolition activities. Apart from this, there is a ban on other activities including flyovers, highways, bridges, and pipelines.

 

6. The central government can give freedom to central employees to work from home.

 

7. NCR state governments can allow work from home with 50 percent capacity in public, corporate, and private offices.

 

8. State governments can close non-emergency commercial activities along with closing schools and colleges.
