PM Modi will visit America next week, will participate in Quad conference, will deliver a speech at UNGA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral meetings with Quad leaders including US President Joe Biden and other foreign leaders during his US visit later this month. In addition, he will attend the first in-person meeting of the Quad Security Dialogue. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) gave this information on Thursday. Prime Minister Modi will be visiting America next week.

 

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that PM Modi will attend the Quad leaders' summit being held in person for the first time in Washington on September 24. On September 25, he will address the general debate at the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Prime Minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden during his stay in Washington. During this, it was also told that when Prime Minister Modi is in New York on September 25, we can have bilateral meetings with the Quad leaders as well as bilateral meetings with some other leaders.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Quad Leaders' Summit in Washington on September 24, 2021, along with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, and US President Joe Biden. During this, these leaders will discuss regional issues of common interest and will also review the progress made since their first virtual summit held on 12 March 2021.

 

Prime Minister Modi will address the United Nations General Debate at the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on 25 September 2021. Earlier in 2019, he had gone to New York for the United Nations General Assembly session. In the year 2020, other global leaders including Modi handed over recorded video speeches for the United Nations General Assembly session. He could not attend this annual meeting due to the Corona epidemic. For the first time in the 75-year history of the United Nations, a high-level session was held online. Because of the pandemic, this year also leaders can send recorded speeches.
