PM Modi's road show in Shillong: Said- Some people say- Modi will dig your grave, the country is saying- Modi your lotus will blossom

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday attended election rallies in Nagaland and Meghalaya. The Prime Minister said in Meghalaya's Shillong that some people, who have been rejected by the country, who have drowned in the pit of despair... nowadays they chant rosary and are saying that Modi will dig your grave. But the country is saying, every corner of the country is saying – Modi, your lotus will bloom.

 

The PM said- The way you have done a wonderful and lively roadshow today... this love of yours, this blessing of yours... I will repay this debt of yours. I will repay the debt of your love and blessings by developing Meghalaya, and speeding up your welfare work. I will not let this love of yours go in vain.

 

The Prime Minister said that when I think of Meghalaya, I think of talented people, vibrant traditions, and amazing natural beauty. The music of Meghalaya is alive. Have a passion for football. There is creativity in every corner of Meghalaya.

 

Modi said – Lotus is blooming in Meghalaya

The Prime Minister said – BJP is visible everywhere in Meghalaya. Be it a mountainous or plain area... be it a village or city, lotus is seen blooming everywhere. Meghalaya today wants a government with people first instead of family, so today 'lotus flower' has become synonymous with the strength, peace, and stability of Meghalaya.

 

Meghalaya's interests were never given priority... You were divided on small issues. This politics has done you a lot of harm... It has done a lot of harm to the youth here. After Shillong, the Prime Minister will address an election rally in Tura.

 

Said in Dimapur- Congress had made North-East an ATM

 

Earlier, the Prime Minister held a meeting at Dimapur in Nagaland. In his address here, he fiercely attacked the policies of the previous Congress government regarding the Northeast. He said- Congress had considered North-East as ATM. The government's money did not reach the public but reached the coffers of corrupt parties.

 

He said that Congress ran the government of Nagaland with remote control. From Delhi to Dimapur, they had given priority to familyism, but our government has changed the thinking of the Delhi government for the entire Northeast. NDA has also got the opportunity to give the first woman Rajya Sabha MP to Nagaland.

 

Modi said – We considered 8 states of North-East as Ashtalakshmi

Like the Congress, we do not consider the 8 states of the Northeast as ATMs but as 'Ashta Lakshmi'. It is our effort that the distance of the heart should also be removed and the distance from Delhi should also be reduced. I have come here dozens of times in the last 9 years.

 

The country does not run by distrusting its people. The country runs by respecting its people and solving their problems. Earlier, where the politics of divide used to run in the Northeast, we have converted it into divine. Our mantra for Nagaland is Peace, Progress, and Prosperity.

 

Election on 27th, results on 2nd March

Let us tell you that elections for 60 assembly seats in Meghalaya and Nagaland are to be held on February 27. Friday's campaign will be Modi's first and last rally before the elections in Meghalaya.

 

The results of the three northeastern states, including Tripura, will come on March 2. Two days back, the Meghalaya government had denied permission for PM Modi's election rally citing security in Tura. The rally was to be held at the PA Sangma Sports Complex. The BJP had targeted the Meghalaya government for not getting permission for the rally to be held in the West Garo Hills district.

Nagaland is the only state in the country where more than 90% of voting took place in the year 2013. However, it later emerged that a large number of bogus voting was taking place in the state. The Election Commission has also made arrangements for voting and strict monitoring here under the supervision of CCTV cameras.

 

Meghalaya: BJP is contesting on all seats

In Meghalaya, the BJP has fielded candidates for all 60 assembly seats. In 2018, the party fielded candidates on 48 out of 60 seats, winning two of them. BJP was involved in the government along with NPP. This time BJP is fighting on all the seats. His strategy is to connect with every voter, as the voter seeks a connection with the candidate.

 

Earlier, the BJP contested 55 seats in Tripura on February 17 and gave five seats to its ally, the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT).

 

Meghalaya Legislative Assembly: Seats- 60, Majority- 31

Elections were held on 59 seats in Meghalaya in 2018. The Congress had won the maximum 21 seats. BJP could get only 2 seats here. The National People's Party (NPEP) got 19 seats. It formed the government together with PDF and HSPDP. He formed the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA). The parties here are in election mode for the last three months. Congress has already released the list of 40 and NPP 58 candidates.
