Shreyas has not scored a single half-century in Tests since December 2022 and Zaheer believes that if he does not perform, he may have to make room for KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Zaheer said that the selectors can announce the team for the remaining three Tests in the next few days. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli may return. So if you have two players coming in, then two players will also be out of the playing eleven because they are the players who will directly take their place in the playing 11.
Shubman Gill is ahead of Shreyas Iyer in the race
Zaheer said, 'So if you don't score runs or don't show that you are fully prepared or that you can play according to the situation, can show maturity, and can contribute to the team, then Shubman Gill will be there. So far, Shreyas has scored 811 runs in 24 innings of 14 Tests at an average of 36.86. During this period he scored one century and five half-centuries.
