Preparation: Akasa Air will start operating commercial flights from July, earlier it was planned to start in June

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's airline Akasa Air on Monday made a big announcement regarding the commencement of its commercial flight operations. It will now start a month later than the earlier scheduled time i.e. in July. Earlier the company planned to launch it in June.

 

Vinay Dubey, the CEO, of Akasa Air, said, "As we approach the opening date, we can now confirm our revised timeline. We expect to deliver our first aircraft by early June. In such a situation, we will start commercial activities in July.

 

Dubey further said that Akasa Air plans to operate 18 aircraft by March 2023. Dubey is also the founder and managing director of this airline. On 26 March, Dubey said during an aviation program that we are preparing to operate our commercial flights from June.

 

In November last year, 72 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft were ordered

Last year in November 2021 itself, Akasa Air ordered 72 Boeing 737 MAX jets. According to the information, the company aims to induct 18 aircraft into its fleet within a year of launch. Akasa plans to add 72 aircraft to its fleet in five years.

 

In October last year, Akasa's parent company SNV Aviation Pvt Ltd received a preliminary nod (NOC) from the civil aviation ministry on behalf of the government. After getting the NOC, it takes about six months for an airline to get an Air Operator Permit (AOP).
