New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday greeted people on the occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti.
"Lohri greetings to everyone! May this festival brighten your lives with abundant happiness, prosperity and good health," the prime minister tweeted.
Lohri is a winter solstice festival celebrated in many parts of north India.
Modi described Sankranti as a festival which has a relationship with nature and the energy of the sun.
At a special function organized by Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu here, he said though the festival is celebrated in different forms across the country, it inspires all of mankind for progress and achievement.
