Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood announced on Friday that air purifiers will be installed in 10,000 classrooms to provide students with clean air. Speaking at a press conference, Sood said the government is committed to tackling the pollution problem through long-term administrative measures. He stated that pollution is not a one-day problem and requires sustained efforts.

Delhi Minister Ashish Sood said, "There are a total of 38,000 classrooms in Delhi government schools, and in the first phase, air purifiers will be installed in 10,000 classrooms."

Taking a dig at the previous Aam Aadmi Party government, he said, "We are not the kind of people who flaunt IIT degrees and run campaigns like odd-even or 'car on, car off'. We are tackling the pollution problem through long-term administrative methods."

Sood emphasized that the government wants children not only to study smartly but also to breathe clean air. He further added, "We want our children to study smartly and breathe clean air. In the first phase, air purifiers will be installed in 10,000 classrooms."

Delhi's air quality remains in the 'very poor' category.

The pollution level in the capital is increasing due to falling temperatures. Despite favorable weather conditions, the pollution level remains in the 'very poor' category today. The morning began with fog and mist, and a light layer of smog was also visible in the sky. This resulted in very low visibility in several areas. People also experienced eye irritation, and those with respiratory problems faced difficulties. According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) in the capital was recorded at 387 on Friday morning.
