Writers, academicians, and eminent personalities have written a letter expressing concern over the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. These people have urged the Parliament to unanimously pass a condemnation motion against communal violence in Bangladesh. The signatories to this letter include writers Amish Tripathi, Ashwin Sanghi, Abhishek Banerjee, Rajiv Mantri, Smita Barua, and Supreme Court lawyer J. Sai Deepak.

The letter said, in recent times we have seen extremely disturbing incidents. The Ishan Center in Meherpur was burnt, and many temples were vandalized across Bangladesh. Videos of rioters celebrating the killing of Hindus are being circulated. The Hindu population in Bangladesh has repeatedly faced persecution, which often increases further during times of political instability.

25 lakh Hindus killed under Pakistani rule

25 lakh Hindus were killed under Pakistani rule in 1971 before the formation of Bangladesh. Genocide against Hindus has been going on since then. According to the report, since 2013, there have been more than 3,600 attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. The attacks on minorities have increased due to the current developments in Bangladesh. The letter said, "We urge the Parliament to unanimously pass a resolution condemning the attacks on Hindus and communal violence in Bangladesh.

In collaboration with international organizations like the United Nations, pressure the Bangladeshi authorities to take concrete steps to protect their Hindu minorities. Take action against the criminals. Immediate action is necessary to stop atrocities and maintain the fundamental human rights of the Hindu community in Bangladesh."
