Information related to TV, fridge, oven, and all electrical appliances will be available with the help of a scan of the product. For this, the Central Government has made changes in the Rules of Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011. It will have all the information in the QR code itself. At present, it is done for one year.

With this, where the consumer will be able to get information about all the important ingredients of the product from its manufacture to the end of its usage limit. At the same time, it will be easy for the manufacturer and the packer, they will be able to give all the information together.

The objective of the ministry behind this is to reduce the compliance burden for the electronics industries. In this context, on Saturday, the ministry stated the notification. It said that now with the help of QR codes, mandatory declarations of electronic products have been allowed to be declared. Notification regarding new rules has been issued.

For this, the Department of Consumer Affairs has made a second amendment for Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities). This, this exemption has been given for one year under Rule 2022.

With these changes, the industry will be able to digitize detailed information with the help of QR codes. This would allow important information to be effectively declared on the label in the package. Other descriptive information can be given to the consumer through a QR code.

The purpose of these changes is to use more and more technology for mandatory declarations with the help of QR codes, the manufacturer and packing of the particular item, or the complete information of the importer such as its address, generic name, nature of the item, size, type information. Can be obtained with the help of a scan. It excludes only telephone numbers and e-mails, or all information will be available in a QR code on a single scan.

By the way, in the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodity) Rules 2011 on the packaging of all pre-packed goods including electronic products, it is necessary to declare all mandatory declarations related to the goods.
