Today is the 55th birthday of Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Rahul Gandhi on his birthday and posted on the social media platform X and wished him a long life.

 

PM Modi wrote on X, "Heartiest birthday wishes to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. I wish him a long and healthy life."

 

Let us tell you, that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was born on June 19, 1970 in New Delhi. He is the eldest son of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and former Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Currently, Rahul Gandhi is an MP from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh.

 

Rahul Gandhi has also been the Congress President.

 

Rahul Gandhi has done his studies both in India and abroad. He graduated from Florida and Rollins College and then obtained an M.Phil. degree from Trinity College, Cambridge University. Rahul Gandhi has also held the post of President of the Indian National Congress.

 

After his studies, Rahul worked for some time with a consulting firm, Monitor Group, in London and then came to India and helped set up Backups Services Private Limited, a technology outsourcing company in Mumbai.

 

Political career of Rahul Gandhi

 

Rahul Gandhi started his political career in the year 2004. He contested and won the Amethi Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh, his father's traditional seat. After this, he reached Parliament by winning from Amethi in 2009 and 2014 as well.

 

In 2007, he was appointed General Secretary of the Congress and then in 2013, he became the Vice President of the Congress. In 2017, Rahul Gandhi was given the charge of the Indian National Congress, but he resigned after the party's crushing defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

 

Rahul won two seats in the 2024 elections.

 

However, before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi was very active and during this time he also took out Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul Gandhi contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad seat in Kerala and won both seats.
