Ghaziabad, Feb 12 (IANS) An illegally-run rave party in a posh hotel near the police lines here was busted and 72 people including six women arrested and two dozen luxury cars and Rs.9.8 lakh seized, police said Thursday
Police said that acting on a tip off by an informer, a raid was carried out late Wednesday night on Hotel Parth Inn situated on Hapur road in Govindpuram near the police lines and 66 people involved in betting were found in an "objectionable condition". Police also held six women, who were also drunk.
During sustained interrogation, the people revealed they were the residents of NCR towns of Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad and frequent visitors of this hotel.
"Hotel owner Dharmendra Agrawal has been arrested. This hotel was providing liquor to the guests despite it not possessing a bar licence. The guests were betting which is illegal and were found in objectionable conditions. Six women were also found with them. Appropriate sections of IPC are being applied on them," said Ghaziabad police PRO Ummed Yadav.
