RCB Vs RR in IPL: Virat's team will look to regain the number-1 position in the points table, the threat of a third defeat against Rajasthan

Posted on 22nd Apr 2021 by rohit kumar

Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Rajasthan Royals on Thursday in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL-2021). Bengaluru's team will enter the high-scoring ground of Wankhede after putting a hat-trick of victories on a slow Chennai pitch. At the same time, the Rajasthan team will play its fourth match in a row here.

Powerful batting by RCB can work wonders

The team batting aggressively on the Mumbai pitch remains in advantage. In this case, RCB has one more batsman from opening to number 8 than one. Finn Allen can be tried alongside Virat Kohli in the opening. Then the presence of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers in the middle order can create fear in any bowling attack. Apart from these, Shahbaz Ahmed and Kyle Jamison are also capable of power-hitting.

Rajasthan team more dependent on Sanju-Butler

If Sanju Samson and Jose Balter bat well for the Rajasthan team, then the team can beat any opponent. But, excessive dependence on these two batsmen is also a negative point for Rajasthan. Ryan Parag, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, and Chris Morris will have to increase their contribution with the bat. Meanwhile, the bad news for Rajasthan is that team batsman Liam Livingstone has decided to exit the league due to fatigue caused by the bio bubble.

What will Shreyas Gopal play?

Rajasthan spinner Shreyas Gopal has dismissed AB de Villiers 4 times and captain Virat Kohli 3 times. Because of this Gopal can be included in the playing-11. There is a possibility of playing either Shivam Dubey and Gopal. On the other hand, Bangalore spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has dismissed Sanju Samson 5 times in T20 cricket. He has dismissed David Miller three times in 5 innings in the IPL.

Interesting Match Stats

AB de Villiers has proved to be the most destructive batsman of the Death Overs in this IPL. He has scored 75 runs in 30 balls between the 16th and 20th overs at a strike rate of 250. It is due to him that the RCB team has been able to maintain a run rate of 11.75 in the Death Overs.

On the other hand, the bowling attack of the Royals has proved to be the weakest of the Death Overs in this IPL. Rajasthan has scored 12 runs per over so far in the game of the 16th to 20th over of the season.

Glenn Maxwell has proved to be the most successful batsman against the Spinners this season. He is the only batsman in the season to have scored more than 100 runs against the spinners. Maxwell has scored 125 runs off 87 balls against the spinners.

Rajasthan's left-arm fast bowler Chetan Sakaria has taken 6 wickets this season. Five of those wickets belong to right-handed batsmen.
