'To deal with terrorism, we...', Shehbaz Sharif again pleaded for talks with India; repeated the same old tune

On Wednesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that he is ready to hold talks with India. He said that both sides should work together to find solutions to issues like Kashmir, the water crisis, and terrorism.

He said this at the Pakistan-Turkey-Azerbaijan trilateral summit held in Lachin, Azerbaijan. This is the second time this week that Shehbaz Sharif has said that he wants talks to take place between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan ready to talk to India

Earlier in a statement given in Tehran on Monday, he had said that he is ready to talk with India to resolve all disputes. India has made it clear that if there will be talks, it will be only on Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Shehbaz Sharif said, "We should sit together and talk for peace. There are issues that need immediate attention and it is necessary to resolve them through dialogue".

'Pak ready with India to deal with terrorism'

According to local media reports of Pakistan, Shehbaz said I have said with all humility that we want peace in the region, and for this, it is necessary to have talks on issues that are important for immediate solution such as the Kashmir issue, which should be resolved according to the resolutions of the United Nations and the Security Council and according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir.

He said, "I have said with all seriousness that if India wants to talk honestly to deal with terrorism, then Pakistan is ready to talk to India on this issue as well." Sharif also expressed his desire to resume trade with India.

He criticized India's decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty and said that it is a lifeline for the people of Pakistan. It is worth noting that tensions between India and Pakistan had increased after the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22.

Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan show solidarity.

The leaders of Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan on Wednesday agreed to strengthen trilateral relations for mutual benefit as well as regional peace and prosperity.

This agreement was reached at the Pakistan-Turkey-Azerbaijan trilateral summit in Lachin, Azerbaijan.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev also attended the summit.

State Radio Pakistan quoted Sharif as saying that our strength lies in our solidarity as the three countries have stood with each other in recent times, whether it is the issue of Karabakh, Kashmir, or Northern Cyprus.

Sharif expressed his gratitude to both countries for their support during Pakistan's recent military conflict with India.
