In the absence of senior players in this series, young players have a chance to prove themselves. He further said that the T20 World Cup is to be held in West Indies and America is to be held in 2024. There are still two years left. The team has to play a lot of cricket in the meantime. In such a situation, there is a good opportunity to test the talent of the youth.

Senior players including Virat-Rohit have been given a rest

On the tour of New Zealand, Team India has to play a series of 3 T20 matches as well as a series of 3 ODIs. Hardik Pandya has been given the T20 captaincy in the absence of Rohit Sharma. While Shikhar Dhawan has been given the captaincy of the ODI series. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, and Dinesh Karthik have been rested due to their workload on the New Zealand tour.

Need to forget the defeat in the semi-finals of the World Cup and move forward

Pandya said that he is disappointed with the semi-final loss to England in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, but there is a need to forget this defeat and move on. We are professional players. We have to learn from this defeat and correct our mistakes and fix where the team is weak.

The New Zealand team always presents a challenge

Regarding the T20 series, he said that the New Zealand team always presents a challenge in the T20 format. Recently, the New Zealand team has also returned after reaching the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.
