Opposition to the Agneepath scheme of the Central Government for recruitment in the army has started in Bihar. Demonstrations started in place on Wednesday, the very next day after Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced the Agneepath scheme.
When the protesters blocked the railway track in Buxar, they set fire to Madipur in Muzaffarpur and blocked the road. Apart from this, there was a lot of ruckus in Ara too. Police and GRP also tried to convince the protesters, but they are adamant about the demand to withdraw the plan.

4 years recruitment plan in all three services
The Central Government launched the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme on June 14 to recruit a large number of youth in all the three branches of the Army – Army, Navy, and Air Force. Under this scheme, the youth will have to serve in the Defense Force for 4 years. It is believed that the government has taken this step to reduce the budget for salaries and pensions.
Demonstration in front of Army Recruitment Office
In Muzaffarpur on Wednesday, hundreds of people took to the road carrying sticks and started creating ruckus and demonstrations. First, the protesters reached the ARO (Army Recruitment Office). There protested. After this, the protesters set fire to Madipur and blocked the road. Along with this, there was also an attempt to sabotage the boards and hoardings around the road.
Sadar and Qazi Mohammadpur police reached the spot to convince the protesters, although they did not agree. The protesters say that they will not leave the road until an army officer listens to their problems.
Railway track jam removed on assurance in Buxar
In Buxar, protesters blocked the Delhi-Kolkata railway track near the warehouse of Buxar station. On the spot, Railway Protection Force, Railway Station, Buxar along with City Police Station and Railway Manager reached. After persuading the protesters, the jam was removed from the track and operations started.
The protesters say, 'Leader or MLA, everyone gets 5 years, what will happen to us in 4 years. We don't even have a pension facility. After 4 years we will come on the road. He says that this plan of appointment in the army should be canceled.
NH-31 jam in Begusarai
At the same time, NH-31 has been completely blocked at Har Har Mahadev Chowk in Begusarai. The protesters are demanding that the recruitment process under the Agneepath scheme should be canceled and the old recruitment process should be returned. Age relaxation of 2 years should be given. The CEE exam process should be done as soon as possible and the result of Air Force Airman should be released as soon as possible.

The protesters said, 'Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had announced on Tuesday that under the Agneepath scheme, Agniveers would be appointed, who would be given jobs in the army for 4 years. After 4 years, 75 percent of the jawans will be returned home after paying Rs 11 lakh. There will be some expansion in the service of only 25 percent.
