Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a high-level meeting this evening. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Cabinet Secretary and others will be present in this meeting.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Russia-Ukraine war that the situation is odd, there is no doubt about it. India wants peace, it should be resolved through dialogue. There should not be a situation of war.

Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that the Ministry of External Affairs is taking steps to bring back around 18,000 Indians, including students, from Ukraine. The airspace in Ukraine is closed, so alternative arrangements are being made to evacuate Indian citizens. The central government will ensure the safety of all Indians.

At the same time, the Indian embassy in Ukraine asked Indian citizens not to panic and stay safe wherever you are. The embassy said that because of the closure of Ukraine's airspace to civilian aircraft, alternative arrangements are being made to evacuate Indian nationals.

The Indian embassy has issued two advisories within a span of a few hours after Russia launched a military operation against Ukraine. The embassy said that those traveling to Kyiv, which includes the western part of Kyiv, are temporarily advised to return to their cities, preferably to safer places.
