It also included the Russian Battalion Tactical Group (BTG), which was retreating from areas around the Ukrainian capital. Indeed, Russian forces are now retreating in some areas of the north to advance to the south and east.

This step has been taken by Russia when peace talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations were held in Istanbul, Turkey on Tuesday. After the talks, a Ukrainian delegation official said that there could be a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the coming days.
Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said on Tuesday that the withdrawal of Russian troops from around Kyiv and Chernihiv was not a ceasefire, according to reports. Russia has described the talks in Turkey as positive. It has also asked the troops to reduce attacks on Kyiv and Chernihiv. One reason for this could be Ukraine's neutral status. Ukraine's President Zelensky said he would remain neutral, meaning Ukraine would not join military alliances but would be guaranteed security in return.

The Russian army is continuously destroying many cities in Ukraine, but Ukraine is not ready to bow down.
Brigadier General Kirillo Budanov, head of Ukraine's defense intelligence agency, said Russia's military operations around Kyiv had failed. In such a situation, the Russian army now knows that it is impossible to overthrow the Ukrainian government. This is the reason why Putin's army is focusing on the east and south of Ukraine. 4. Putin's eyes on the Donbass
The first phase of his special military operation in Ukraine is over. Russian troops will now focus on the independence of the eastern Donbass region, where Russian-backed separatists have been fighting for eight years.
