Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has compared Indian middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav to AB de Villiers. Steyn believes that this 360-degree batsman from India will play a key role in helping his team win the title for the second time in the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. Suryakumar has become the most dangerous batsman of T20 in recent times. He has played many stormy innings in the recent T20 series against Australia and South Africa. Suryakumar has become the joint second player to score the fastest T20I fifty for India. He scored his fifty against South Africa in Guwahati in just 18 balls.

Dale Steyn told Star Sports on the show 'Cricket Live', "He (Suriyakumar) is the kind of player who likes to use the speed of the ball. Places like Perth and Melbourne have a little extra momentum and bounce on all these grounds. So, you can use momentum, you can hit the fine leg, back, and across the ground. He's also really good when he stays still and plays on the back foot. They've also put in some amazing back-foot cover drives and some beautiful front-foot cover drives."

The former fast bowler described Suryakumar as a 360-degree player, who plays a lot like de Villiers. “He is an all-round player. The wickets in Australia are batsman-friendly. When a bowler tries to bowl full, you can go too far. You can keep the ball to the left and use the momentum of the ball well when you have room. He is an amazing 360-degree player. Seeing him batting reminds me of AB de Villiers. He can be the version of AB de Villiers in India.
