Russia-Ukraine War: Russia shelling in Ukraine's city of Kupiansk, and one person was killed; many houses destroyed

Russian shelling destroyed several houses and killed one person in the city of Kupiansk in Ukraine's northern province of Kharkiv. The governor of Kharkiv province gave this information. Meanwhile, fighting has intensified in the eastern city of Bakhmut.

 

The city of Kupiansk is about 30 kilometers from the Russian border. The area has been the target of frequent attacks even after the Russian army withdrew from the area about six months ago.

 

Governor Oleh Sinihubov said at least five houses were destroyed in the latest attack, which killed a 65-year-old man. The governor of Donetsk province, Pavlo Kirilenko, said two civilians had died in Bakhmut in the past.

 

Missile attack on Zaporizhia

Eleven people were killed in a Russian missile attack on a residential building in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhya. On Saturday, the National Emergency Service found the body of a woman in the rubble of the building.

 

A child was also among those killed in the attack that took place in the early hours of Thursday. According to regional administration officials, the S-300 missile hit the residential building.

 

Russia claims Azov regiment command was targeted

Russia's Defense Ministry claimed on Sunday that its military targeted the command center of the Azov Regiment of Ukrainian forces in the southeast Zaporizhia region. This command is considered to be the right-wing and extremely nationalist command of Ukraine.

 

China will face consequences if it sends arms to Russia: Schulz

German Chancellor Olaf Schulz has said that China will face consequences if it sends weapons to Russia for the Ukraine war. At the same time, he hoped that China would refrain from doing so. Two days ago, Schulz met US President Joe Biden in Washington.
