The strike of transporters and private bus operators continued for the second day on Tuesday in protest against the new hit-and-run law. On the second day of the strike called by the transporters, most of the auto drivers of Kaithal have also extended their support to the drivers. Under this, autos were not operated at many places in the city since Tuesday morning. Along with this, due to the strike of transporters, the goods of many traders could not arrive. On Wednesday, roadway workers will also demonstrate for two hours in support of the drivers. After this demonstration, a further decision will be taken to go on strike for roadway buses.
The transport system deteriorated, and private buses did not run
Not a single private bus was seen on the road in Fatehabad on Tuesday, due to which passengers traveling on local routes are facing problems. Private buses run from Fatehabad to Ratia, Tohana, Bhuna, Narwana, Bhattu Kalan, Nohar, Bhadra and Sirsa. There are 107 private buses in the district and the operation of all of them remained completely closed on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that the Central Government has made a new law for hit-and-run cases. Under this, if someone dies in an accident due to the fault of the driver and the driver absconds from the spot, then there is a provision of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 7 lakh. Bus, truck, pickup, and tempo drivers will be affected by this. This is being opposed in many states. On Tuesday, private bus operators also stopped their buses in protest.
Buses also go from Fatehabad city via various villages, which did not run on Tuesday, due to which students and villagers faced problems. Earlier there was a facility for private buses to Ratia, Tohana, and Bhuna every 10 to 15 minutes, but that too was not available and the passengers had to wait for the buses for a long time. People from rural areas especially faced more problems. Roadways buses ran as per time, due to which a lot of crowd was seen in them.
according to the official
We are trying to ensure that passengers do not face any problems due to this strike. The frequency of roadway buses is being increased so that the passengers can reach their destination on time.
