Congress's foreign unit chief Sam Pitroda has sparked a new controversy by making a claim. He said the threat from China is often exaggerated. He suggested that India should stop considering China as an enemy.
The ruling BJP has reacted sharply to this statement of Sam Pitroda. The BJP has termed the Congress as "attracted to China". Sam Pitroda has a long history of controversies, he has made a statement that India's approach towards China has been confrontational and the mindset needs to be changed.
Pitroda answered the question of PM Modi and Trump.
"I don't understand the threat from China. I think the issue is often exaggerated because the US tends to define the enemy. I believe the time has come for all countries to cooperate, not confront." His answer came on the question of whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump would be able to control the threats from China."
Slamming Sam Pitroda's statement, the BJP said the Congress' obsession with China has its roots in the 2008 Memorandum of Understanding between the Congress and the Chinese Communist Party.
