Following the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy, stand-up comedian Samay Raina has made a comeback. He has released his first stand-up comedy special, titled ‘Still Alive.’ In this video, Samay Raina responds—one by one—to the people who had commented on him during the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy. In this same vein, he also hit back at comments made by TV’s ‘Shaktimaan’—Mukesh Khanna. After this response by Samay Raina went viral, Mukesh Khanna has once again taken aim at the comedian. The actor suggested that Samay Raina is only fit to be paraded around on a donkey with his face blackened.
Samay Raina Hits Back at Mukesh Khanna
Samay Raina faced severe criticism following Ranveer Allahbadia’s distasteful comments regarding ‘India’s Got Latent.’ During this period, several celebrities—including Mukesh Khanna and B Praak—criticized Samay Raina and took shots at him. Now, nearly a year later, Samay Raina has responded in his new video to all those celebrities who had criticized him during that difficult time.
While doing so, Samay Raina also took aim at Mukesh Khanna, stating: “Shaktimaan was asking what kind of impact such content would have on children. Brother, back when Shaktimaan used to air, news would surface every other month about a child jumping off a rooftop, believing themselves to be Shaktimaan. You are the one who caused children’s deaths; what right do you have to speak?”
“Throw Tomatoes and Eggs at Samay Raina”
Enraged by this specific statement from Samay Raina, Mukesh Khanna lashed out at the comedian in a social media post. Mukesh Khanna shared a post on his Instagram account. The post features an image in which Mukesh Khanna appears in his Shaktimaan avatar, while Samay Raina is depicted sitting on a donkey with his face blackened. Inscribed on this image are the words: “Samay Raina, you are fit only to ride a donkey—and that too, with your face blackened.”
Accompanying this, Mukesh Khanna penned a caption further rebuking Samay Raina, writing: “Samay Raina, too, possesses a tail. No matter how much you beat it—or try to straighten it—it inevitably curls back into crookedness. This is because he is not a simple, straightforward being; he is a ‘roasted’ creature—scorched and cooked in the fires of filth. The entire nation has rebuked him; they have thrashed him. Yet, he has returned—shamelessly—to invite further beatings. Now, only one course of action remains: his face should be blackened, he should be seated upon a donkey, and he should be paraded through the cities and alleyways across the country—to places where children can pelt him with eggs and tomatoes. For he has insulted their superhero: Shaktimaan!!!”
The Reason the Show Was Cancelled
In the year 2025, Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, became embroiled in significant controversy due to its dark comedy and vulgar jokes. During the show, guest Ranbir Allahabadia posed bizarre and offensive questions regarding a contestant’s family; this incident led to the filing of a police FIR against the show, ultimately forcing its cancellation. Following this episode, several celebrities—including Mukesh Khanna, B Praak, and Sunil Pal—heaped heavy criticism upon Samay Raina.
