Rainfall in several parts of Delhi-NCR on Tuesday morning has brought about a shift in weather conditions. Due to the rain, vehicular movement on the roads slowed down, causing commuters to face difficulties in their daily travel. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for rain on April 7 and 8. During this period, the sky is expected to remain generally overcast. There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by strong winds, thunder, and lightning from morning until evening.
Weather Outlook Ahead
Following this, from April 9 to April 12, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 30 and 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is projected to hover between 16 and 21 degrees. The sky will remain mostly clear during this time; however, strong winds are expected to blow, with speeds potentially reaching 30 to 40 kilometers per hour during the day. The impact of strong surface winds will be more pronounced from April 9 to April 11, while wind speeds may decrease slightly on April 12.
People Grappled with the Heat Yesterday
According to the Meteorological Department, a new Western Disturbance is likely to begin affecting Northwest India starting April 11. On the other hand, residents experienced the heat on Monday due to intense sunshine throughout the day. Many people were seen drenched in sweat during this period. The strong sun, shining brightly since the morning hours, caused significant discomfort to the public.
During this time, the maximum temperature recorded was 33.3 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 17.7 degrees. In Delhi, the maximum humidity stood at 80 percent, while the minimum was recorded at 27 percent. According to the Meteorological Department, the highest temperatures were recorded at Ridge (34.4°C), followed by Lodhi Road and Aya Nagar (33°C), and Palam.
