SRH vs KKR: Hyderabad bid farewell with a win, defeated defending champion Kolkata; Klaasen scored a historic century

In the match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 110 runs. Although, this match was not going to have any effect on the IPL playoffs but it was a battle of honor for both the teams. Sunrisers Hyderabad won it.

 

Chasing the huge target of 279 runs, Kolkata had a bad start and Sunil Narine was out after scoring 31 runs. Rahane could score only 15 runs. Quinton de Kock returned to the pavilion after scoring only 9 runs off 13 balls. Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 15 runs.

 

Harsh Dubey shook KKR.

 

Harsh Dubey shook Kolkata's innings by sending Rinku Singh (9) and Andre Russell (0) to the pavilion within two balls. Lower-order batsmen Manish Pandey (37), Ramandeep (13), and Harshit Rana (34) tried to fight but it was too late by then. Jaydev Unadkat and Harsh Dubey took three wickets each for Hyderabad.

 

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen thrashed KKR bowlers. Team openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave the team a great start by making an explosive partnership of 92 runs for the first wicket. At the same time, in the middle order, Heinrich Klaasen scored a stormy century and took Hyderabad to a huge score of 278 runs.

 

Abhishek played a fast innings.

 

Abhishek Sharma gave the team a fast start by scoring 32 runs in 12 balls. He hit three fours and two sixes. However, he got caught by Rinku Singh while trying to play a big shot on the ball of spinner Sunil Narine. However, his contribution put the team in an aggressive rhythm.

 

Travis Head showed strength.

 

On the other end, Travis Head batted brilliantly and completed his half-century in just 26 balls. He played a blistering innings of 76 runs in 39 balls, which included five fours and seven sixes. He took Harshit Rana, Enrique Norkhia, and Vaibhav Arora to task. His innings helped the team take the score forward rapidly.

 

Klaasen's dashing century

 

After Head was out, Heinrich Klaasen showed an aggressive attitude. He first shared a half-century partnership with Head and then along with left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan, gave an explosive finish to the innings. Klaasen completed his century in just 37 balls. This innings was his first century of this season and the second century of his IPL career. This century of Klaasen is the joint third fastest century in the history of IPL.

 

Hyderabad made a record score.

 

Sunrisers Hyderabad scored a huge score of 278 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. This was the third highest score in the history of IPL. Fans thoroughly enjoyed Hyderabad's batting.
