Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabri said on Monday that his government has not allowed the Chinese ship to stop in Sri Lanka. Ali Sabri said that India's concerns are important for Sri Lanka. Let us tell you that the Chinese Navy ship Xin Yan 6 was to stay at the port of Eastern Sri Lanka in October for about three months. India objected to this, fearing it as espionage. What did the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister say?

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabri said, 'As far as I know, we have not allowed the Chinese ship to come to Sri Lanka in October. Indian security agencies have expressed concern about this, which is right and very important for us too. We have always said that we want to keep our area safe. Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also said that an SOP has been made for foreign ships to come to Sri Lanka and carry out any activity in the area.

 

 

A Chinese research ship was to come to Sri Lanka in October. This ship was about to come to Sri Lanka for marine research. Victoria Nuland, a top minister of the US government, also expressed concern about this to the Sri Lankan government. On the arrival of foreign ships to Sri Lanka and India's concerns about it, Ali Sabri said that 'India has been expressing concern about this for a long time. In such a situation, we have prepared an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), when we were making an SOP, we discussed it with many friendly countries, including India. As long as things go according to our SOP, we have no problem, but if the SOP is violated, we will have a problem. Ali Sabri said that Sri Lanka did not allow the Chinese ship to stop but he also said that talks are still going on.

 

Last year also a Chinese ship had docked in Sri Lanka

Ali Sabri said, 'What is happening in our neighborhood, any development that has an impact on our security is a matter of interest to us.' Last year, China's spy ship Yuan Wang-5 stayed at Hambantota port of Sri Lanka for several days. It was China's ballistic missile and satellite tracking ship. India had objected to this and feared that it could carry out surveillance of India's marine assets. India has similar concerns this time too.
