Stuntman SM Raju Death: Police action in stuntman's death case, case filed against many people, including Pa. Ranjeet

There was a stir in the Tamil film industry when the news of the tragic death of well-known stuntman SM Raju came to light during the shooting of a film. This accident happened on the set of actor Arya and director Pa. Ranjith's film. If media reports are to be believed, a case has been registered under serious sections against film director Pa. Ranjith and three others in this case.

 

The case is registered under many sections

After an initial investigation, a case was registered against Pa. Ranjith, stunt choreographer Rajkamal, Neelam Production, and another person, Prabhakaran, under section 194 of the Indian Justice Code. However, seeing the seriousness of the case, the police have now tightened it further. Now, a case has been registered against the accused under section 289 (negligent action), section 125 (incitement to crime), and section 106 (1) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).

 

What is the case?

 

The incident took place in the Kilaiyur area of Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu, where the shooting of a film organized by 'Neelam Productions' was going on. During the stunt sequence, Raju had to perform a scene of overturning a car, but while performing this dangerous stunt, he got seriously injured. He was immediately rushed to Nagapattinam Government Medical College Hospital, but doctors declared him dead.

 

Many veterans paid tribute.

 

SM Raju was known as a daring stunt artist in the film industry. He had done stunts for many big films. His untimely demise has sent a wave of mourning across the cinema world. Actors and directors are expressing their condolences through social media.

 

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran wrote on Instagram that many magical scenes would not have been possible without artists like Raju. At the same time, actor Vishal wrote on 'X' that Raju has been doing dangerous stunts in his films for years, and he was a brave person. He also provided help to Raju's family. Stunt choreographer Silva also paid an emotional tribute to his fellow artist. He said that the Indian film industry has lost a precious gem.
