The iPhone craze is widespread across the globe. However, the level of passion seen in India is unmatched in any other country. Sales of the new iPhone Series 17 models began at Apple Stores in India at 8 a.m. on Friday.
But iPhone enthusiasts began lining up overnight. This isn't unique to this year. Following the launch of every new iPhone series, people wait in queues well into the night. In Mumbai, people even resorted to physical violence outside an Apple Store.
People have been queuing since late at night.
This time, Apple launched a saffron-colored iPhone in its Pro series. After purchasing this color phone, a young man told news agency PTI, "I've been lining up since morning. I'm so excited. Holding it feels like I've won something. I love this orange color."
The young man further said, "This time there will be more craze for this color. You must have noticed that saffron color is in discussion in India. Although I am Muslim, I like this color. Before this, I bought the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Now I am upgrading it."
Aman Memon, who bought his first iPhone from the Apple Store in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, said, "I have been standing in line since 3 am. Last year, I was standing in line at 3 am." It should be noted that a minor scuffle also broke out between people standing in line for iPhones outside the Apple Store at BKC Jio Center in Mumbai.
