The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court will hear the decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to give reservations in education and jobs to the Muslim community and its cancellation by the High Court. On Tuesday, CJI UU Lalit said, a constitution bench will hear the matter on September 6.

The Andhra Pradesh government challenged the High Court's decision in the Supreme Court. Apart from this, the Constitution Bench will also hear the matter challenging the constitutional validity of the 103rd Amendment Act, 2019, filed by Janhit Abhiyan on September 6. It enabled the state to make reservations only based on economic criteria in matters of higher education and public employment. CJI UU Lalit told that both these cases will be listed for September 6 and the final hearing in these cases will start on September 13.
