Bihar government has recommended to hand over the investigation of actor Sushant Singh Rajput case to CBI.
Sanjay Singh, the spokesman of the main ruling party JDU in Bihar has confirmed this with the BBC.
Sanjay Singh told the BBC's associate journalist Neeraj Priyadarshi, "After talking to Sushant's family members and looking at the entire matter, the Chief Minister has agreed to a CBI inquiry. Since it is under a process, therefore within two to three hours The Chief Minister's recommendation letter will reach the center. "
At the same time, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told news agency ANI that Bihar Director General of Police Gupteshwar Pandey spoke to Sushant Singh Rajput's father and he has given consent for the CBI inquiry.
However, the Maharashtra government has already turned down the demand for a probe by the CBI.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who hails from Bihar, was found dead at his Mumbai home on 14 June. The Mumbai Police is investigating the matter as a suicide. The Mumbai Police have questioned several prominent personalities of the Hindi film industry, including Riya Chakraborty in this case. These include from Mahesh Bhatt to Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
But recently, Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh lodged an FIR in Patna. In this FIR, he has made many serious allegations against Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Riya Chakraborty.
FIR on Riya
This FIR was lodged at Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna only on 25 July. Sushant Singh Rajput's father has spoken out against Riya Chakravarti for raising money and committing suicide in the FIR.
When the Bihar Police reached Mumbai to investigate the matter, a new controversy started. The Mumbai Police and Bihar Police are being dragged into the investigation of this matter.
Vinay Tiwari, a senior Bihar police officer who arrived in Mumbai to investigate the matter a day earlier, has been quarantined. On this, Director General of Bihar Police Gupteshwar Pandey raised strong objections.
Riya Chakraborty has also filed a petition in the Supreme Court questioning the investigation of Bihar Police. A hearing is pending in the Supreme Court in this matter.
The relatives of Sushant Singh Rajput have accused the Mumbai Police that the Mumbai Police is not investigating the matter properly. Sushant Singh's father had also alleged that he had also informed the Mumbai Police in February that Sushant's life was in danger.
But the Mumbai Police issued a press release on Monday, saying that Sushant's brother-in-law had given information to the Mumbai Police officer on the WhatsApp. But he did not make a written complaint about this and said that he is informally saying so.
But Mumbai Police had made it clear that investigation cannot be done without written complaint.
Recently, Riya Chakraborty tweeted and demanded Home Minister Amit Shah to investigate the death of Sushant Singh Rajput from the CBI. He wrote- Sir, I am the girlfriend of Sushant Singh Rajput. A month passed after Sushant's death. I have full faith in the government. I want justice to be ensured in this case, so it should be investigated by CBI. I just want to know under what pressure did Sushant take such a big step.
After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, there was a lot of debate on nepotism in the Hindi film industry. Actress Kangana Ranaut made many serious allegations, while many directors like Anurag Kashyap also rejected it. Many of the allegations were personal as well and people also accused each other.
