India is uneasy about the arrival of the Chinese spy warship Yuvan Wang-5 at Sri Lanka's Hambantota port and the Sri Lankan government's stand on it. In the current scenario, India expected that the Sri Lankan government would not allow the military vessel to stop at the port. Sources claim that efforts were also made from India's side for this. But finally, China has been successful in dominating Sri Lanka in this matter. India fears that if Sri Lanka's position remains the same, then China's military shipping activities in that region may increase in the future.
In the situation arising in Sri Lanka in the recent past, India had given a lot of help to Sri Lanka under the policy of 'neighborhood first', which includes a package of about $ 3.5 billion. China, largely responsible for that situation in Sri Lanka, was lagging in helping. Due to the non-payment of China's debt, Sri Lanka had to give Hambantota port on a 99-year lease to it. But this lease was done for non-military purposes only.
The dragon managed to convince Sri Lanka
If sources are to be believed, China has been able to convince Sri Lanka that it is not a military ship but a research vessel. But India does not agree with this at all. There is information that it is a ship equipped with spy equipment that has come to the Indian Ocean for the fulfillment of special purposes. Research is just a sham. India has also been surprised at Sri Lanka's stand because the President of Sri Lanka has also started saying that it is not a military ship.
Indian navy alert
According to sources, however, the Navy is keeping a close watch on the Indian waters given the arrival of the Chinese vessel in Sri Lanka. Under this, special attention is being kept on whether the Chinese ship does not violate international laws related to the sea. If something like this happens, India will directly oppose it. It is possible that in the coming days, India will again hold talks with Sri Lanka on this issue.
