A big update has come in the case of assault on Rajya Sabha MP from Aam Aadmi Party, Swati Maliwal. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Delhi Police has been formed to investigate the assault case. Earlier on Monday evening, the Delhi Police team had reached the Chief Minister's residence with Bibhav Kumar. During this time, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police of Northern District Anjitha Chepayana and many senior officers were present.
Anjitha Chipiyala will lead the team
The police officer said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed in the Swati Maliwal case. A week ago, Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was assaulted by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's PA Bibhav Kumar. The SIT team will be led by Additional DCP Anjitha Chipiyala of North District.
These officers will also be included in the SIT
The team will investigate under these only. Apart from this, three Inspector rank officers are also part of the SIT team. Along with this, the officers of the Civil Line police station, who had registered the case, are also included. Police officials said that the SIT will submit its investigation report to senior officials.
Police did crime scene recreation with Bibhav
According to police sources, what happened on the morning of 13 May? To know the entire incident, the police repeated the scene in the presence of Bibhav. Sources say that Bibhav is not cooperating much in the interrogation. He is answering only yes or no. The police are interrogating them and trying to connect each link related to the case.
Statements of so many people were recorded
Officials investigating the case said that the police team is busy collecting every evidence to strengthen the case. The police team recorded the statements of many employees and other people present at the CM residence. Statements of 15 to 20 more people are yet to be recorded. These include PCR staff and the Civil Lines police station in charge.
Bibhav Kumar is not cooperating in the investigation
A senior police officer investigating the case said that during his detention, Bibhav did not cooperate with the police interrogation even on the second day. He is continuously denying that he assaulted Swati Maliwal. However, he has no answer as to why he ran away after the case was registered and why he formatted his mobile.
Sources say that the police have prepared a list of employees, security personnel, and officers deployed at the CM residence on the day of the incident. Now the police will interrogate them one by one about the incident. Police have also recorded statements of some people on Monday.
