Chandigarh, Jan 24 (IANS) At least five people have died due to swine flu in Haryana this month, health officials said here Saturday.
A health department spokesman said that 29 cases of swine flu had been confirmed so far in the state, and the patients were being treated in the isolation wards of various hospitals.
Eight cases were reported from Faridabad, seven from Gurgaon, five from Hisar, two from Jind, two from Karnal, two from Sirsa and one each from Rohtak, Fatehabad and Jhajjar.
"The state health department has made adequate arrangements for treatment of patients suffering from swine flu. Adequate stocks of Tamiflu medicine have been made available, ventilators provided and isolation wards have been set up in all hospitals of the state," the spokesman said.
Patients with any symptoms of swine flu were being monitored, he said.
