Indian captain Rohit Sharma is seen crying in the dugout after losing to England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. The captain's eyes were moist after this humiliating defeat. Batting first in this match, India scored 168 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets on the board. This score was achieved by the English team in just 16 overs based on the stormy innings of Jos Buttler and Alex Hales who entered the final. England will now take on Babar Azam's Pakistan for the title battle in Melbourne on 13 November.

 

After this crushing defeat against England, some pictures surfaced on social media in which captain Rohit Sharma is seen sitting with moist eyes in the dugout. India played this first T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and thus the team's exit is heartbreaking. India spectacularly started the tournament with a win over Pakistan. India reached the semi-finals after losing just one match in the Super-12. But here the brilliant game of England showed Team India the way out of the tournament.

 

Talking about the competition, after losing the toss, the Indian team got the first blow in the form of KL Rahul, who could score 5 runs. This was followed by a 47-run partnership for the second wicket between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 56, and Chris Jordan showed him the way to the pavilion with a personal score of 27. Adil Rashid gave the third blow to Team India by dismissing Suryakumar Yadav with a personal score of 14. India lost their third wicket for 75 runs. This was followed by a half-century partnership between Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli for the fourth wicket. Kohli became the victim of Jordan after scoring 50 runs. India lost their fourth wicket for 136 runs. Hardik Pandya was hit wicket on the last ball, he scored 63 runs in 33 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. Pant was also run out before Hardik.

 

The England team did not have any problem chasing the target. With 24 balls to spare, he won the match by scoring 170 runs. Jos Buttler scored 80 and Alex Hales played an unbeaten inning of 86 runs.
