
A horrific road accident took place in Maharashtra on Friday morning. According to the information received, a tourist bus coming from Mumbai to Shirdi collided head-on on the Nashik-Shirdi highway. There were a total of 45 passengers on this bus. 10 died on the spot. The dead include 7 women and 3 men. At the same time, 35 people were injured in the accident. All the injured have been admitted to the nearby Saibaba Hospital. The condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, top officials from the police and administration reached the spot. The reasons for the accident are being ascertained. The bus was carrying passengers from Ambernath in Mumbai who was on their way to Shirdi Darshan. The accident took place near Pather village, which falls on the Sinnar-Shirdi highway. According to people present on the spot, the collision was so strong that both the bus and the truck were badly damaged. The dead have not been identified yet. Police are present on the spot.
Regarding the incident, officials said that the incident took place at around 7 am near Pathare Shivar in Sinnar tehsil of Nashik, about 180 km from Mumbai. As per preliminary reports, the dead include 7 women, 2 small children, and a man.
Officials said the death toll could rise as the condition of some of the injured was stated to be serious.
