Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed that India will play a few T20 Internationals in the US. In a statement issued on Wednesday (June 1), CWI has confirmed that the Indian team is scheduled to play some matches of the limited-overs series against West Indies in Florida, USA.

"India's eight-match white-ball tour will conclude from August with an exciting weekend of back-to-back T20 International fixtures at the Broward County Cricket Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida, which will be played on 6 and 7 August," the board said. " Earlier these matches were to be played on Caribbean soil.

The Indian team's tour of the West Indies will now start on July 22, while the last match on the tour will be played on August 7. After this, the Indian team will go on a tour of Sri Lanka for a two-match T20 series, where the team will later play in the Asia Cup 2022 as well.

Cricket West Indies has stated, "The first T20I on Friday, 29 July will be historic as the first men's T20I to be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. The venue for back-to-back second and third T20I matches is Warner Park, St. Kitts. which coincides with the Emancipation Day and the Kulturama holiday celebrations."

Given the internal issues in the United States of America i.e. USA Cricket, it was not easy for the CWI to remove the US matches. The release of the schedule was delayed due to late permission from the US to host the two T20 Internationals in Lauderhill, Florida.
