USA: Indian-origin Darshana Patel will contest the California State Assembly elections, is a research scientist by profession

Indian-origin research scientist Darshana Patel will contest the 2024 California State Assembly elections. Darshana Patel has announced this. Patel, 48, will contest the North County seat. The seat is currently held by Brian Michen but has declined to contest in 2024. After this Darshana Patel announced to contest the State Assembly elections from the North County seat in his place.

 

Announcing her claim, Darshana Patel said that 'being the daughter of an immigrant, I have struggled a lot to fulfill the American dream. I know the challenges families face in difficult times. Darshana Patel said that I will stake a claim for the State Assembly elections. I want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to be successful. I will try to make a difference in the lives of people using my experience of being a scientist, school board member, and social leader.

 

Patel had previously been elected to the Poway Unified Board at a time when the district was witnessing a surge in economic mismanagement and criminal activity. At such a time, fiscal responsibility was fulfilled. In the year 2020, Darshana Patel was again elected to the Poway Unified Board. Patel has also been a member of the San Diego County School Board Association. Darshana Patel lives in San Diego with her husband and three daughters. He holds a BA in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Occidental College, University of California.
