Tej Pratap Yadav's rift with Rashtriya Janata Dal and his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav is increasing day by day. An angry Tej Pratap met Bihar Congress working president Ashok Ram on Thursday. The meeting took place at a time when there is a lot of speculation about the RJD and Congress parting ways. It is being said that trouble is brewing within the grand alliance in Bihar as RJD has announced candidates for both the seats for the bypolls.

By-elections are to be held in Tarapur and Kusheshwarsthan in Bihar on October 30. Earlier on Saturday, Tej Pratap claimed that his father is being held hostage by those who want to become the national president of the party. Tej Pratap said, “There are four-five people in RJD who are dreaming of becoming national president and have kept them hostage in Delhi.

According to a media report, Ashok Ram has claimed that Tej Pratap will campaign for Congress in the Kusheshwar Sthan constituency. After RJD announced its candidates, Congress has now fielded Ashok Ram's son Atirek Kumar from this seat. Notably, the Kusheshwar Sthan constituency is located near Hasanpur from where Tej Pratap is the RJD MLA.

While the RJD has fielded its candidate for the by-polls to be held on the two seats, Congress had warned that if the RJD does not withdraw its candidate, the party will also contest. An all-out contest between RJD-Congress-LJP (Ram Vilas Paswan) and NDA could benefit the ruling alliance.

Ashok Ram said that if Tej Pratap campaigns for Congress, it will benefit the party. According to Ram, Tej Pratap is believed to have told him that he was discussing the current political developments with his supporters and could campaign for the Congress if needed.
