At the same time, a new sub-form JN.1 has been found in patients infected with the coronavirus in India for the last five weeks, but now its spread seems to be increasing. In the last week, this new sub-form has been found in all the samples of patients who came for genome sequencing, which is currently promoting infection in more than 40 countries of the world. Also, Corona is increasing in 11 states of the country.

So far, 26 cases of JN.1 sub-variant have been reported in India. Of the 25 cases, 19 were found in Goa, four in Rajasthan and one each in Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra. Where is one case? Its details have not been revealed yet.
All 19 cases of the JN.1 variant found in Goa have now recovered. This variant was detected during genome sequencing of samples collected from patients.
Goa epidemiologist Dr. Prashant Suryavanshi said that the patients with the JN.1 variant had mild symptoms and have now recovered.
Earlier on Wednesday, two cases of JN.1 sub-variant were reported in Jaisalmer. Two more cases were reported in Jaipur on Thursday.
India records 594 fresh Covid-19 cases. The number of active cases in the country has now increased to 2,669.
The World Health Organization has described JN.1 as having low risk based on current evidence. Its original variant is different from BA.2.86 and classified as a variant of interest.

According to a joint report by the UK Health Protection Agency and the Office for National Statistics, this variant is spreading more rapidly in people aged 18 to 44 years.
The report attributes the increase in cases to cold weather, shorter days, and increased social interaction during the winter season. This variant is spreading more rapidly due to the favorable breathing environment.
R-value is seen more than Omicron
Dr. Sameeran Panda, former head of the infectious disease department of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, says that the R-value of the JN.1 subtype is seen to be higher than that of Omicron. This means that the ability to spread the infection from one person to another or even to a third person is high, but in terms of severity, it is not as strong as it was in previous years.
Can engulf people rapidly
At the same time, Dr. Rajiv Jayadevan, co-chairman of the Covid Task Force of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), said that many medical studies have come to light regarding the JN.1 sub-form, which clearly shows that it is not a very serious form, but it is It can engulf people quickly.

Apart from INSACOG, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has also submitted a report to the Health Ministry, in which it has been told that the infection of JN.1 has reached 11 states of the country. Apart from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, corona-infected patients have also been reported in Goa, Puducherry, Gujarat, Telangana, Punjab, Delhi, and Rajasthan, whose genome sequencing report of their samples is awaited.
