There is going to be a big change in the world population next week. According to the United Nations, the world population is going to reach eight billion next week. The United Nations Department of Population said that the population will continue to increase in the coming decades, with life expectancy increasing to an average of 77.2 years by 2050. By November 15, the number of humans on Earth will increase to eight billion, more than three times the number of 2.5 billion in 1950. At the same time, alarm bells are going to ring for India, because it has been estimated that the population of the country will increase continuously and by 2050 it may cross 1.7 billion.
The United Nations predicts that the world's population will continue to grow to about 8.5 billion in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and about 10.4 billion in the 2080s. "The population growth rate, after peaking in the early 1960s, has declined dramatically to below 1 percent in 2020," said Rachel Snow of the United Nations Population Fund. Because this figure could potentially drop to around 0.5 percent by 2050.
According to the United Nations, in 2021, the average fertility rate was 2.3 children per woman, down from about five in 1950, which will drop to 2.1 by 2050. Snow says, "We have reached a point in the world where most countries and most people in this world are living in countries that are below replacement fertility capacity." The main reason is that the average life expectancy continues to rise. This is 72.8 years in 2019, nine years more than in 1990. The United Nations predicts the average life expectancy to be 77.2 years by 2050.
At the same time, the average age is also different in different regions. The median age is currently 41.7 years in Europe versus 17.6 years in sub-Saharan Africa. Snow says that the gap has never been as big as it is today. This number could be different, but not as in the past when the average age of countries was mostly young. Miss Snow goes on to say that in the future it may be close to growing.
China's population will gradually decrease
Some experts believe that these regional demographic differences may play an important role in geopolitics going forward. At the same time, China's 1.4 billion population will gradually begin to decline and by 2050 it will reach 1.3 billion. By this century the population may remain only up to 80 crores. On the other hand, if we talk about India, then by 2023 it can be a country with more population than China. Also by 2050, it can go beyond 1.7 billion. America will remain the third most populous country in 2050.
