US President Donald Trump recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him his friend and a great Prime Minister. PM Modi also reacted to Trump's statement and thanked the US President, and described India-US as global partners.

PM Modi said in his post that he deeply appreciates Trump's sentiments and positive assessment of relations and fully responds. He wrote that India and the US have a positive and future-oriented, comprehensive, and global strategic partnership.

India's stance remained balanced.

Ever since the Trump administration imposed a 50% tariff on India, India has adopted a very balanced and mature stance. India did not react sharply to Trump's controversial and sometimes harsh statements, but clarified its position on the basis of silence and logic.

Prime Minister Modi also made statements showing sensitivity and restraint, which were factual and peaceful. India's stance was that its strategic partnership with the US is important, but it is equally important to maintain its independent foreign policy and strategic autonomy.

India is a strong partner.

In the global scenario, India is trying to maintain a balance between China and America. China wants India to increase its regional influence by joining it, while America sees India as a strong partner.

Recently, the US Secretary of State and the US Embassy declared the month of September as the month to further improve India-US relations and called upon the people to support this initiative. This step was seen as an attempt to increase contact between the two countries and create a positive atmosphere.

What do experts say?

Expert Ravindra Sachdeva believes that Trump's initial statements are emotional, but later he reconsiders. He said that the presence of the leaders of India, China, and Russia together in the SCO Summit and the parade display probably made Trump feel that India is getting closer to Russia and China.

This is why he initially made comments about losing India and Russia. But later, he admitted that India had not been completely lost. PM Modi's positive response shows that India is serious about stability and future direction in the relationship.
